Diane Buster
The best explanation of what art is, to my mind, is this... art is communication through form. The form the artist chooses, whether from the performing arts, the visual arts, or the written word, mostly comes from the artist's own particular talents; but the goal is the same. The goal is to communicate something of what we think we understand.
My chosen art form is landscape painting in oil. My goal is to communicate the joy and appreciation I feel just being outside. The Plein Air Friends group has become a motivational and joyful part of striving toward this goal. I love that we go out regularly to such a variety of places. We all benefit from the give-and-take of our critiques held right after each painting session. Studio time is alone time, and essential, but what a blessing to be with this group each week doing what we all love!
